Welcome to Totem Investment

We are not out to change the world. At Totem Investment LLP, first, we are an equity investor. We like the idea of sharing.

In our investment process we have to analyze the numbers and the stories behind the companies we invest. To that end, we have developed the tools we found indispensable in producing the information we need. Like a farmer who has produced much more than we need, we thought of being a responsible member of the value investment community and share our harvest with you. That does not mean that you don’t have to do anything – far from it – you still have to make it work for you.

Our aim is to extend a hand to the Robert Kyosaki-of-the-world who seeks to educate people on the topic of personal finance. Jim Cramer, the host of ‘Mad Money’ on CNBC said it best, “I’m not here to make friends, I just want to make you money.” If we can only reach out to one person and make a difference it would be worthwhile for us. You know who you are. Unlike Jim Cramer, we wouldn’t mind it one bit if we make a few friends along the way.

Second, like you, we are not as focused as we like, at times. Our growing team makes up a very diverse group of people – it does take a village to support a website. Like any village many people on our team have other interests in addition to helping you make money.

Our team will get distracted, and likely so from time to time, will focus on the arts, humanitarian issues, ecological topics, or even economical pursuits – would you please forgive us for our indiscretions – we are only human. Any money we make from this website will go towards supporting this community – this is a pledge from us to you.

If you help enough people get what they want, you will get what you want.

Zig Ziglar said, “If you help enough people get what they want, you will get what you want.” The idea of making enough money to support the team is a crazy idea; it’s not original in any way, but nevertheless crazy. Ken Rockwell, a photographer and blogger, puts it simply, “I support my growing family through this website, as crazy as it might seem.”

So if you like to help, from time to time let us know you are out there and tell us what you think. That is all you have to do – even at that – it is definitely not a requirement. If you just do that we will not trouble you with all of the details of how we managed to keep the lights on at night – it helps that our need is but a small candle.

Yours Sincerely,

Peter Huynh
